GREENVILLE- Paxton Patterson officials along with members of the Muhlenberg County Board of Education were on hand at Muhlenberg County Middle School on Thursday. The College & Career Ready labs, 30+ in total, were unveiled in front of community leaders. These new labs are designed to be 100% hands on with students able to build videos, draw blood, weld, and more! A complete and immersive experience with real life variables.

The ribbon cutting is happening after a large financial push from The Felix Martin Foundation and local business' alongside the Muhlenberg County Board of Education. The labs feature both hands on and traditional classroom exercises for students. Muhlenberg County Middle School is home to 30 of these labs while every elementary school in the district have 6 labs per school.
The point behind these labs is to offer students a chance to explore various potential career paths and trades. Fields such as welding, HVAC, Electrical, Videography, Digital Music Production, First Aid, and more are all covered. Cosmetology is also offered at the Middle School. The High School has already engaged in an extensive and highly successful CTE Program that helps students with college and trade training and readiness.

Officials with Paxton Patterson and the Muhlenberg County Board of Education hope to create a training ground locally for other districts interested in the Paxton Patterson labs. If you'd like more information on these labs or if your business is interested in sponsoring a specific lab, contact the Muhlenberg County Board of Education.
