GREENVILLE, Ky. (July 4, 2025) – Muhlenberg County invites the community to come together in celebration of Independence Day at Ray Jones Athletic Park, 200 County Park Drive in Greenville, for the much-anticipated return of Freedom Fest—now with an exciting new twist
.
This year’s event, hosted by Greater Muhlenberg Parks & Recreation, will feature the inaugural Family Night in the Park, a free, fun-filled experience for all ages. From 5 to 8 p.m., families can enjoy games, inflatables, and activities designed to bring the community together in a spirit of celebration.
“This was an event inspired by my time spent in Murray, Kentucky,” said Ryan Yates, Executive Director of Greater Muhlenberg Parks & Recreation. “It was a wonderful night for families to connect and spend time together celebrating the 4th.”
Local vendors will be on hand with food, drinks, and treats available for purchase, making the evening a perfect blend of festivity and convenience.
The night will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 p.m., lighting up the sky in a dazzling tribute to America's birthday.
The fireworks display is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Central City Tourism Commission, Greenville Tourism Commission, Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission, Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court, and the City of Powderly.
