Ken Carver Named Executive Principal of New Christian County High School

Christian County Public Schools has officially named Ken Carver as the inaugural Executive Principal of the newly consolidated Christian County High School. The announcement was made Friday by Superintendent Chris Bentzel, who noted that Carver was selected following an “extensive search and interview process.”

Carver will step into the role on July 1st, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in education. He currently serves as principal of Muhlenberg County High School, a position he has held for the past three years.

“His experience and commitment to student achievement make him the right leader to establish a positive culture and high expectations at the new Christian County High School,” Bentzel said.

The new high school will unify students and staff from across the district, merging the communities of Hopkinsville and Christian County high schools. Carver expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying he is “humbled and honored” to take on the role. He emphasized his desire to build a sense of unity while honoring the legacies of both former schools.

Carver began his career as a high school science teacher and coach, and holds degrees from Murray State University and the University of the Cumberlands. His leadership is widely praised for its student-focused approach and collaborative spirit.

Christian County Board of Education Chair Tom Bell called the appointment a “historic step” for the district. “We are confident Mr. Carver will build a strong, unified school community where students can thrive,” Bell said.

Carver and his wife, Alicia, have twin daughters graduating high school this year. The family plans to stay actively involved in the school community—and when he’s not cheering for the CCHS Tigers, Carver says he’ll be rooting for his longtime favorites, the UK Wildcats and the St. Louis Cardinals.

We want to thank Ken Carver for all he has done for our kids and us. We wish you nothing but success in Christian County!
